 President's Message
What have you learned from your clients today?

I hope everyone who was able to make it to the banquet
(in spite of downed power lines, power outages, and traffic jams) enjoyed Beate's presentation.
For me it was an important reminder to stay on focus.
All too often I find myself directing my attention too much to the piano
and not enough to the person who will be using it.
We need to be ever vigilant in this regard and try to engage with our clients as much as possible.
What type of music to they enjoy?
How long have they been playing?
	Are they taking lessons?
Do they enjoy the sound of their piano,
or perhaps another piano sounds better?
	Why do they play?
All of these seem like far more important questions than,
"When was the last time your piano was tuned?"
Not that we shouldn't find out details concerning the piano itself -
we are piano technicians after all.
It's our job, though, to make the connection between the piano and the person stronger.
We can accomplish this easily, but in order to do so we need to know a little bit about both.

Good luck!

Chris Haberbosch

From Our Delegate

Let your voice be heard!
Make sure to attend the meeting on June 13,
since we will be discussing the issues before the national Council this year.
If you can, please make sure to read the recent Journal Supplement,
and come to the meeting well-informed.
The issues to discuss this year include some rather interesting Bylaws proposals
and a choice of North East Regional Vice President: Paul Kupelian (incumbent), or Chris Solliday.
June 13 will be your opportunity to learn more about these issues,
and to let your views be known to the chapter and to your Council delegate.

Thanks.
--Ken Farrington

New Committees Forming!!!
Now that our Chapter has duly installed a new board,
that also means that there will be many changes to the membership of the committees
as our new president, Chris Haberbosch, decides how best to use
the multitude of talented and dedicated people who comprise our chapter.
In consultation with the other present and former Board members,
Chris will create a fresh new roster for us.

The key to the success of this all is, of course,
our own willingness to volunteer our time and efforts for the Chapter.
All of us appreciate what a strong and vibrant chapter we have,
but it only gets and stays that way if we all play a part.

Take a moment to look over the list of committees
and find one or more you might be willing to try out for the next year.
Then, if you haven't already heard from Chris,
give him a call at (860) 729-6391 or an e-mail at: jenandchris4@comcast.net.
We will all be glad you did.
