A Standing Invitation...If you are a full-time or part-time piano service professional with an interest in
then PTG membership is for you. The Piano Technicians Guild has a web page you can read on this subject Why should I be a member of PTG? The PTG website provides you with the party line on member benefits: i.e. the Piano Technicians Journal, the group insurance rates, the seminars. While all of these are good reasons for joining the PTG, many members feel that the best part of membership is their association with their fellow chapter members. It is difficult to place a value on meeting regularly with ones colleagues in the trade. Piano technology is a demanding craft. I truly believe that my involvement with the PTG has been the best thing I have ever done careerwise. Membership in the PTG provides me with many benefits some of which are: it continually puts valuable information in my hands; it increases my contacts within the industry; and it expands my base of mentors, peers, and friends. If you are seriously considering being a piano technician or already are one, I highly recommend joining and taking advantage of what all the Connecticut chapter meetings have to offer. Doug Mahard, Bethlehem The Connecticut Chapter is among the largest and most active in the PTG. We hold monthly meetings in various locations around the state, normally on the third Wednesday of the month. Each meeting consists of a formal business meeting followed by a technical presentation. Contact membership chair Dave Geisler (203) 235-6667, to find out more about chapter membership, or to let him know you would like to attend a meeting. Guests are welcome to attend three meetings before deciding whether or not to join. Return to Front Page
